A day in Hoi An ancient town




Hoi An is an ancient town located in the lower section of Thu Bon River , the coastal plain of Quang Nam Province , Vietnam  . Hoi An was a  international commercial port , the meeting place of the merchant ships of Japan , China and the West during the 17th and 18th centuries .



Nowadays Hoi An  port market  is preserved thoughtfully . Most of the houses  are the traditional architecture dating from the 17th century to the 19th centuryt . Hoi An is also recorded several land mark of the mix , acculturation . The assembly halls , temples traces of the Chinese is the town houses and traditional Vietnamese houses of French architecture style . Besides the cultural values ​​through architecture , Hoi An also kept an intangible cultural diversity and richness . Daily life of the inhabitants of the ancient city with traditions , religious practice , folk art , festivals , culture is preserved and developed . Hoi An is considered as a living museum of architecture and urban lifestyle . 


With outstanding value , at the 23rd session of late 1999 ( December 4, 1999 ) , the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization United Nations ( UNESCO ) has recognized Hoi An the world cultural heritage , based on two criteria
Hoi An is the physical manifestation of the striking combination of cultures over time in an international trading port .
                                                             

Come to Hoi An town tourist can to enjoy attractive dishes such as Beo cake  (bloating fern-shaped cake), girdle-cake , steamed wheat flour cake, pancake, shirmp in batter.... and especially the Quang noodles
